Arthur M. Wells, 87, Clarks Summit died Christmas day at the Community Medical Center, Scranton. He was the widow of Grace Ellen Price Wells who die on June 20th of 2006.
Born in Waverly, son of the late Samuel and Grace Amos Wells. He was an Army Veteran of World War II.. After leaving the army he was employed as a mason, belonging to the brick layers union for over 50 years. In 1959 he co-founded Wells Gas Station with his wife Grace, working along side his son Arthur Wells Jr. For many years. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Clarks Summit. He was a life long resident of Clarks Summit, a graduate of Waverly Highschool as well as attending East Stroudsburg University.
Surviving is a son Arthur Jr., Clarks Summit, a brother Samuel, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son Richard Wells and two grandsons Stephen and Robert Wells.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 10am from the Trinity Lutheran Church, 205 W. Grove St. Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. George Matthews, Pastor. Interment Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly.
Friends may call Monday from 9am until time of service at the church.
