Arthur W. Payton, Sr., Tunkhannock, died Tuesday evening at Tyler Memorial Hospital. His widow is the former Claudette Sandoz.
Born in the Bay Ridge Section of Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth Anna Monicque.
Prior to retirement he was a supervisor at Metropolitan Life Insurance. He was a proud Air Force veteran and loved to spend his time fishing.
He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Payton Jr., and a grandson GJ Payton, who died in Iraq.
A private family service was held at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA. Interment with military honors followed in Orcutts Grove Cemetery, Noxen.
