Arthur Lewis Jr., 77, of Dalton died Friday morning at Allied Skilled Nursing Facility, Scranton. His wife was the late Theresa Fazio Lewis, who died in 2013.
Born in Elmhurst, son of the late Arthur Sr. and Dorothy Green Lewis, he worked at the family machine shop in Scranton. Before his retirement, he was a contractor primarily working in the Dalton and Waverly areas. He proudly served his country as a Navy veteran.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Surviving are a son, Eric Lewis and his wife, Pam, Archbald; two daughters, Laura Kitzmiller, Wilkes-Barre; and Brenda Lewis, Albrightsville; a brother, Robert Lewis; sisters, Donna Oarley, Cathy Frederici, Julie Lewis and Diane Lewis; five grandchildren, Erica Lewis, Dalton; Shane Kitzmiller, Wapwallopen; Jillian Lewis and Elin Lewis, Archbald; and Timothy Schmidt, Scranton; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Lewis; brothers, Harry, Russell and David Lewis; and a sister, Audrey Eastwood.
The family would like to thank the hospice nurses and staff for all of their compassionate care given to Arthur.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by Mitch Ryan, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Friends may call Monday from 10 until time of service.
