Arlene P. Rosengrant of Clarks Summit died Thursday in Community Medical Center. She was the widow of Harry J. Rosengrant, who died Dec. 30, 1953.
Born in Newton Twp., daughter of the late William C. and Elizabeth H. Raeder Petty, she was a graduate of Newton High School and West Chester State Teachers' College. She taught for two years at Lake Ariel Consolidated School, and taught elementary school for 27 years in Newton-Ransom and Abington Heights school districts. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, the Voluntary Action Center, and Retired Seniors Volunteer Program. She was a member of the South Side After 50 Club, Nativity Golden Age Club, and Abington Senior Citizens' Center as well as an avid pinochle player.
Surviving are two sons, Lynn and wife, Palmina, Virginia Beach, Va.; and Arlyn and wife, Denna, Falls Twp.; a brother, Warren and wife, Beatrice, Fayetteville, N.Y.; four grandsons, Harry, Shawn, Benjamin and Zachary; two granddaughters, Sarah and Katie; a great-grandson, Gianluca,? nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Williams, and three brothers, William, Elden and Ray, who was killed during World War II.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Milwaukee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice in care of Community Medical Center, 1800 Mulberry St., Scranton, PA 18510.
