Archie John Anstey, 74, of Dalton, PA died Wednesday evening at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, PA.

Born in Newburgh, NY, he was the son and eldest child of Clara Schartzer and the late Archie Anstey. His wife is the former Jane Skrobak with whom they have a daughter, Deborah L. Anstey of Dalton and a son, Michael J. Anstey and his wife, Amie, and their son, Mason, of Scranton.

Archie "Johnnie" was a proud Marine veteran and a member of Montour Falls, NY No. 131 F & AM. He was an avid hunter and scuba diver. He enjoyed Nascar, many sports, and outdoor activities. He was a fan of the Washington Redskins, NY Yankees, and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Prior to his retirement, Archie was self employed as an independent sales and distribution manager for Central Petroleum. He also originated a mulch hay business producing and delivering to the mushroom farms in Southern PA.

Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, is a daughter, Susan Forster, and husband Ken and their 2 children of Hutto, TX; a son, Steven Anstey, and wife Jennifer, of Corning, NY; and a daughter, Kathy Hatcher, and husband Steven and their 3 children of Rocky Point, NC.

Archie is also survived by a brother, Stanley of Milton, PA and 3 sisters, Robin Westling of Winfield, PA; Linda Babb of Bunker Hill, WV; Lolly Anstey of Lincoln, DE; aunts, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a younger sister, Judy Anstey.

A Blessing Service will be held Tuesday at 10 am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit with services by Fr. John Lapera, pastor, Church of St. Gregory. Entombment with military honors will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.
