Anthony Michael Paznonski Jr., died peacefully Saturday at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the former Ruth Vasky. The couple had been married for 40 years.
Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Anthony Michael and Ann Shatinsky Paznonski Sr.
He was a graduate of Jenkins Twp. High School. He was a Navy veteran and prior to his retirement, he was employed as a foreman for Rapid Pallet Co. in Jermyn. After his retirement, he and his wife continued to be antique dealers full-time. Anthony enjoyed going antiquing with his wife and going to estate sales. He was a member of the Church of St. Gregory, Clarks Green, had a very strong Catholic faith and found peace at church during his illness.
Anthony also enjoyed gardening. He found peace lying in his chair, by his garden, enjoying the warmth of the sun. He was an avid Penn State, Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies fan. He enjoyed going to Atlantic City and the Mohegan Sun to play the slots and blackjack. He looked forward to the annual family vacation to the beach, but above all he loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Anthony was a compassionate, giving man, who never asked for anything in return. The love for his family is beyond words.
Also surviving are four daughters, Cindy Bunnell and her husband, Jon, Clarks Summit; Tracy Sweeney and her husband, James, Clarks Green; Stephanie Wasilchak and her husband, Robert, Jessup; and Ruthie Smith and her husband, Michael, Waverly; eight grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Smith, Justin and Jordan Wasilchak, Kyle, Jimmy, and Greg Sweeney and Troy Bunnell; a brother, John Paznonski and wife, Grace, Pittston; a sister, MaryAnn Littlefield, Wyoming; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Paznonski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Church of St Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, with service by Monsignor John Louis. Interment will follow in Clarks Green Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
