Listen to Obituary

Anthony Arcure, 72, of Clarks Summit, passed away peacefully Sunday evening at Regional Hospital in Scranton, surrounded by his loving family while listening to his beloved Beatles music.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Michael D. Arcure Sr. and Frances Spinillo Arcure. Anthony graduated from Abington Heights High School in 1972 and went on to attend and graduate from Admiral Farragut Academy in New Jersey.

Before retiring from the automotive industry, Anthony owned Abbey Road Records in Clarks Summit, where he shared his passion for music with the community. A lifelong film enthusiast, he also appeared in several movies throughout his life, including Man in a Box, Playing for Keeps, and Soda Jerks.

Anyone who knew Anthony knew of his deep love for music, especially The Beatles. He found great joy in sharing that passion with his family through concerts, records, and countless conversations about music. He also cherished attending New York Giants and New York Yankees games with his grandchildren, creating memories they will carry with them forever.

Anthony is survived by his son, Harrison Arcure of Washington, D.C.; his daughter, Dorrie Joiner and her husband, Matthew, of Montoursville; his beloved grandchildren, Brynn and Mason Joiner; and his brother, Mark Arcure of Clarks Summit.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Arcure Jr.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Clarks Summit.

May his memory live on through the music he loved, the stories he shared, and the family and friends who knew him best.
