Anne M. Matthews, formerly of Scranton and Tunkhannock, died Wednesday at Allied Skilled Nursing.
Born in Upper Darby, daughter of the late Walter L. and Frances Mackey Matthews Jr., she was a graduate of Brown University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree. Before retirement, she was the executive director of the Indian Hills Countil of Girl Scouts of the United States of America, Binghamton, N.Y. She was a member of the Church of the Epiphany.
Surviving are two brothers, Walter L. Matthews III, Pennsacola, Fla.; and John Matthews, Tunkhannock; two nieces, Jennifer Griffin, New York; and Susan Vohnought, Tampa, Fla.; grandnieces and grandnephews.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Church of the Epiphany, 103 Church Hill Road, Glenburn Twp., with services by the Rev. Craig Sweeney, rector. Interment, private, Forest Hills Cemetery, Dunmore.
