Anna Marie Dabelko Cobb died Wednesday afternoon in Community Medical Center.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Sopkie Dabelko and stepdaughter of the late Stella Dabelko, she resided in Dalton for more than 50 years. Before retiring in 2001, she worked at Avanti Cigar Co. Anna loved and lived for her children and grandchildren. In recent years, she passed down her baking secrets and holiday candy-making recipes to her daughters and granddaughters. She loved shopping with her daughters and lived for Christmas giving. She enjoyed summer vacation trips with her daughters and granddaughters. Her home was the center of summer parties, open to family and friends. She especially enjoyed celebrating the Fourth of July, her birthday party. Anna was very much loved and will very much be missed.
The family offers a special thank-you to Dr. Ruggiero, whom Anna trusted and loved.
Surviving are three sons, Paul J. Cobb, Moscow; David A. Cobb and wife, Gayle, Dalton; and MSgt. Mark A Cobb, USAF, and wife, Patricia, Harrisburg; three daughters, attorney Patricia A. Cobb and husband, Paul E. Granahan, Dalton; Linda M. Haynos and husband, Gerard, Archbald; and Laura A. Mack and husband, William A., Dalton; seven granddaughters, Laurie, Lindsey, Leanna, and Stephanie Cobb, Louanne Mack, Sara Cobb and Carolyn Mack; nieces, nephews and her beloved dog, Abbey.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph, Frances and Stephen Dabelko and Bernard and Marshall Kubelis; and three sisters, Mary Dommes, Catherine Modzelewski and Bernetta Suhow.
A funeral service will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Gregory's Church, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green. Interment, Holy Family Cemetery, Throop.
