Ann Marie Walsh, 87, of West Scranton, died Wednesday evening at Holy Family Residence in Dunmore. She was the widow of Thomas N. Walsh, who died in 1968.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Vincent James and Victoria Forsette Colosimo, she attended West Scranton High School, and before her retirement she was an elevator operator and custodian for West Scranton High School. She was very active in local politics, and served as a democratic committee woman in West Side for more than 20 years.

Ann enjoyed PLAYING BINGO, but her true passion was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Walsh and wife, Judy, South Abington Twp.; and Thomas Walsh and wife, Marilyn, Sturges; two daughters, Ann Marie Walsh, Scranton; and Patricia Walsh Gorton; two sisters, Susan McGuire, West Wyoming; and Susan Parfrey, Scranton; former daughter-in-law, Loraine Walsh, Scranton; a granddaughter, Shannon Carden and her husband, Shawn, Carbondale; three great-grandchildren, Conner, Bailey and Liam Carden; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Theresa Gorton; a grandson, Thomas Gorton; four brothers, Joseph, Russell, Timothy "Timmy" and Anthony "Scotty" Colosimo; and three sisters, Marion Smith, Carmella Smith and Dorothy Swaydis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. from Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. John M. Lapera, pastor of the Church of St. Gregory's, Clarks Green. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Holy Family Residence.
