Ann Brzostek, 80, of Dalton died Sunday evening at Geisinger CMC in Scranton surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 55 years is Chester Brzostek.
Born in Scranton she was the daughter of the late Wesley C. and Kathleen Regan Harris. She graduated from West Scranton High School in 1956 and married Chester, July 14, 1962. The couple moved to Dalton where they resided for over 50 years. Ann worked for Weis Supermarket for the majority of her working career until her retirement. She was very active in the community being a life member with the Dalton Fire Co. Ladies Auxillary, a member of the Juanita Chapter No. 8, Order of Eastern Star, and a member of Our Lady of the Abington's Church.
Ann was an avid Yankee and New York Giant fan, taking numerous bus trips to the Bronx. She most enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren grow and prosper.
Surviving are four daughters Mary Moulder and partner Dave Felker, Scranton; Ann Theresa Parry and husband Thomas, S. Abington Twp.; Judy Brzostek, her caregiver and fiance Michael Umphred, Dalton; Kathleen Burgess and husband Nathan, New Cumberland; one sister Marion Weinschenk; ten grandchildren Sarah Moulder and husband Steve Handelman; Kathleen Moulder; Eric Parry and wife Stefanie, Colby Parry, Brandon Parry, James Parry, Shea Parry, Nathan Burgess and wife Sarah, Elizabeth Burgess, and Katie Burgess, and two Great-grandchildren Thomas and Charlotte Parry several nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son Wesley Frank Brzostek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 am from Our Lady of the Abington's Church 700 W Main St, Dalton, PA by Rev. Arbogaste Santoun, Pastor. All those attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Scott Twp.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit, PA 18411. An Eastern Star Service will take place at 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dalton Fire Co. Ladies Auxillary.
