Listen to Obituary
Ann "Nancy" Baer, Clarks Summit, died Thursday afternoon at Abington Manor after a long illness. She and her husband, Robert Baer, married in 1970.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Rokyta Muchunas. Before her retirement on her 80th birthday, she was employed as a waitress at the So-journer at the Inn at Nichols Village for more than 60 years. She attended Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit, every Sunday with her good friend, Peggy Yablonski, and was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church in Scranton.

A loving wife and mother, she had a special place in her heart for all of her co-workers and customers from her days at the So-journer at the Inn at Nichols Village. Nancy was a champion shopper, familiar with every inch of the Viewmont Mall.

Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Andrews and husband, Robert Hair, Scranton; a brother, Peter Muchunas, Florida; a sister, Sonia Burlarley, Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Abington Manor and the caring nurses and social workers of Hospice of the Sacred Heart who provided assistance and support to Nancy and the family through the most difficult times of her long illness. We will be forever grateful.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. in SS. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church, 1720 Academy St., Scranton.

Friends may call Sunday, 4 to 7 p.m., at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Memorials in Nancy's name may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Ave., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702
