Andrew F. Martino, Scranton, formerly of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday at Community Medical Center.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he was the son of late Lebrato and Jennie Francoline Martino. He graduated from the University of Scranton where he was the valedictorian of his class. He was a WW II Army veteran serving in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters, earning the Good Conduct Medal, EAME Campaign Medal, and WW II Victory Medals. Prior to retirement he was an engineer for Anemostat Corp. in Scranton. He was a member of the Clarks Summit VFW Post #7069.
Andrew was brilliant and invented a probe used by industries all over the world, including NASA.
Surviving are two sons, Andrew Jr., Lake Winola; and Matthew, Clarks Summit; two sisters, Frances D'Onofrio, Rocky Hill, CT; and Carmella Corraccio, in Wethersfield, CT.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Nicholas.
