Andrew Morris Jr., 87, of Clarks Summit, died Sunday morning at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.
Born in West Nicholson, he was the son of the late Andrew Sr. and Olga Holtzman Morris. He was a graduate of Clarks Summit High School and went on to attend various colleges and universities, including Keystone College, Penn State University, where he received a master's degree, and served a three year internship while working on his Doctorate degree from the University of Nebraska. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving in Germany and prior to his retirement, he was employed as a math teacher for Abington Heights High School for thirty years. Andrew was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Clarks Summit.
During the summer months Andrew enjoyed spending time remodeling homes for future sale. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are two brothers Clyde Morris, Clarks Summit; and Edward Morris and his wife Sylvia, TegaCay SC; two nieces Karen Lawroski and Julie Kreil; and a nephew Eric Lawroski.
He was preceded in death by three sisters Evelyn Lawroski, Ruth Farrel, and Mildred Stacknick.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2pm from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411, with services by Rev. Paul Fields. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery in Dalton.
Family will receive friends Thursday from 1pm until time of service at the funeral home.
