Andrew DeWitt, 56, of Dimock, PA passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kara (Richie) DeWitt.
He was born on July 24, 1970, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he is the son of Sharon Snyder and the late John DeWitt.
Andrew was a 1988 graduate of Tunkhannock High School. He was currently employed at Astound for over 30 years.
He was a loving and devoted father, husband, son, and dog-grandpa. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife and daughters. Andrew was known best for his baking and cooking skills, generosity, and caring heart. He always was the first to make people laugh and was passionate about his love for the people he called family and friends.
He will be deeply missed, and his memory and legacy of love and generosity will be carried on by all who loved and knew him. Though he is no longer with us, he will never be forgotten and will always be missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Celia DeWitt of Dimock, PA and Cydney DeWitt of Pittsburgh, PA; grand-dog, Queso of Pittsburgh, PA ; father-in-law, Elmer (Butch) Richie of Rush, PA; sister, Melissa DeWitt of Wilkes-Barre, PA; nephew, Stephen Snyder of Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Family and friends are invited to attend Andrew's funeral service which will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM from the Marcho, Sheldon, and Kukuchka Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657, with Pastor John Shaffer presiding.
A viewing will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM from the funeral home. Interment will be held in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Andrew's memory can be made to the True Friends Animal Welfare Center, 16332 SR 706, Montrose, PA 18801 or the Community Chapel of Faith, PO Box 14 Dimock, PA 18816.
