Alma Amelia Altieri, 94, of Baldwinsville NY, formerly Dalton, died Saturday Morning at Syracuse Home Health and Rehab Center. She was the wife of the late James A. Altieri Sr. who died in 1993.
Born in Mount Tom, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late August and Lona Pietrowski Kucenski. She was a graduate of Scranton Tech High School and devoted her life to caring for and raising her family. She was a member of Our Lady of the Abington's, Dalton. Alma was a member of the Dalton Fire Co Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed quilting baby blankets and attending the Dalton Crafts Show.
The family would like to thank her extended family at the Syracuse Home Health and Rehab Center for the wonderful care and compassion they gave to Alma.
Surviving is a son James A. Altieri Jr. and his wife Amanda, Louisville KY; three daughters Linda Robinson and her husband Loren, New Milfdord; Karen Lubinski and her husband Ralph, Sandy Creek NY; and Jeanne Hopkins and her husband Robert, Scranton; three brothers Rev. William Kucenski and his wife Doris, Rochelle IL; Ernest Kent, Key Largo Fl.; and Leon Lisowski Scranton; two grandchildren Joshua Altieri and Robert Hopkins and wife Jennifer, one great grandson Robert J. Hopkins; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Lisowski ; three sisters Ruth Strezlec, Eleanor Spear, and Lona Codick; and a granddaughter Lauren Robinson.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday at 10am from Our Lady of the Abington's Church, 700 Main St. Dalton 18414. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery in Dalton.
Friends may call Thursday from 9am until time of service at the church.
