Albert J. Augustyn, 78, of Factoryville, died Wednesday afternoon at Regional Hospital in Scranton. He was the husband of the former Nata Matlosz. The couple has been married for 46 Years.

Born in Roselle NJ, he was the beloved son of the late Albert and Emilia Tomascik Augustyn. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Elizabeth, NJ, and went on to proudly serve his country in the US Air Force. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Proctor and Gamble in Staten Island, New York before being transferred to the Mehoopany Plant. He was a member of Our Lady of the Abingtons Church in Dalton.

Al was very active in many organizations and enjoyed volunteering for various causes. He was a 3 Rd and 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, including past Grand Knight and Grand Knight of the year. He was an active member of the Fleetville Fire Co., serving as President of their Relief Committee, the American Legion in Bushkill Pa., the Polish Legion of American Veterans in Elizabeth NJ, 20 th Ward Social and Athletic Club in Scranton He received the Man of the Year Award from the JCC in Linden NJ, and was Grand Marshall of the Pulaski Parade in New York City.

Also surviving is his favorite daughter in Scranton, Carolyn Augustyn and her companion Steve Bailey, his favorite daughter in Macungie Ann Marie Miller and her husband Matthew, and his favorite daughter in Emmaus Eileen Moore and her husband Edward, grandchildren Taylor Marie Augustyn, Nathan Lewis and Abigale Miller, and Tierna Elizabeth and Connor Albert Moore; godson Frank Augustyn; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother Edward Augustyn and his wife Lydia, a sister Emili Gola and her husband Anthony, and a sister in law Barbara Rygiel.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 10am from Our Lady of the Abingtons Church, 700 W. Main St. Dalton Pa., with services by Rev. Arbogaste Santoun, Pastor. Interment will be held at a later date in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia NJ.

Friends may call Friday from 3 to 7pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fleetville Volunteer Fire Co., PO Box 6, Fleetville Pa, 18420.
