Agnes L. Thorne, 87, formerly of Clarks Summit died Monday morning at Tunkhannock Manor in Tunkhannock.   She was the widow of Robert Thorne.

Born in Scranton she was the daughter of the late August and Agnes Philips Ritterbeck.  Agnes was a woman of Catholic faith.  Prior to her retirement she was an aide in the Foreign Language department at Abington Heights High School.  Agnes was an avid golfer and would golf whenever she could.

Surviving are two sons, Robert and his wife Maria, Tunkhannock and David and his wife Kathy, Factoryville; a daughter Cheryl Faust, Coatesville; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother Robert, Moscow; and her sister Nancy McDowell, Dumfries, VA and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters Annette Kennedy and Marion Ritterbeck both of Scranton.

A Memorial mass will be held on Saturday September 16 th at 10:30 in the Nativity BVM Church, 99 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA .  Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:30 until the time of the mass at the church.

Agnes was loved, well cared for and considered family at Tunkhannock Manor for the past five years.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Home, 50 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657
