Agnes Marie Doyle Bailey, 92, Dalton, died at home on Saturday. She was the widow of George Edward Bailey, who died in 1999.

Born in Pierce City, Okla., in 1918, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Marie Doyle. Before her retirement, she was an editor for Time, Life and Fortune magazines in New York City. She had lived in Dalton for the past 11 years with her daughter, Pamela, and grandchildren, Kacie, Kristie and Keriann Grieder. She had previously lived in Albuquerque, N.M.; St. Louis, Mo.; and New York City.

She adored art and was an accomplished painter and textile artist. She had a passion for interior decorating, which was evident in all of her beautiful homes. Agnes was always elegant, curious and intelligent. She deeply appreciated beauty, nature and a good story. She loved to laugh and entertain her good company of friends. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Also surviving are two daughters, Pamela Bailey and Linda Bailey-Martiniere; a son, Michael Bailey; four granddaughters, Kacie Greider Conaboy, Kristie Greider, Keriann Greider and Madelynn Martiniere; and a sister, Patricia Fletcher.
