Adrian P. Pivovarnik, 64, of Clarks Summit, died Thursday at home. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Nancy Houser.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Joseph Pivovarnik and Ann Basalyga Pivovarnik, he graduated from Scranton Technical High School, class of 1964. While there, he was the center for the Red Raiders football team. He was a lifetime employee of Herff-Jones as a pressman and also participated in the company sports league.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing, Thursday night bocce ball, casino trips and rooting for his favorite sports teams. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Also surviving are a son, Paul and wife, Joanne, Havertown; a daughter, Amy Simmons and husband, Skip, Lithia, Fla.; three grandchildren, Ana, Bryce and Alexa Pivovarnik; three brothers, Eugene and John, Clarks Summit; and Joseph, Old Forge; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A blessing service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will be in Clarks Green Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center-Pennsylvania Hospital, 330 S. 9th St., Philadelphia, PA 19107
